I. Measurement Guide ft. r/ABraThatFits:
Grab a soft measuring tape (medida) and measure yourself either braless or with nipple pasties for the most accurate results. (Note: Your size can change depending on the brand and bra style–totally normal!)
1. Under-band (band size): Wrap the tape directly under your breasts, level and relaxed to measure your support foundation.
2. Bust (fullest point): Measure around the fullest part of your breasts, at nipple level. Again, level and relaxed.
3. Lastly, use the A Bra That Fits calculator! Go to the A Bra That Fits website:
Get matched with the best suggested size for you.
(Note: It is suggested to also follow their full measurement guide for standing, leaning, and lying for accuracy.)
II. Sister Size Secrets (if not identical twins, they are still SISTERS)
Sister sizes are simply other bra sizes that hold the same cup volume but use a different band, this is helpful when the cup fits but the band is too tight or too loose.
(Note: This is just an alternative way to get your size and a supplementary way if the cups fit but the band doesn’t—why not try the sister sizes?)
The simple sister-size rule
To keep cup volume the same:
• Go UP 2 in band (e.g., 32 → 34) and DOWN one cup letter (e.g., C → B).
• Or go DOWN 2 in band and UP one cup letter.
(Note: So one size’s “sisters” are the size with a larger band + smaller cup, and the size with a smaller band + larger cup.)
Use the same pattern for larger/smaller bands — the rule is consistent across cup ranges. For example, if 34C fits in the cup but the band is too loose, try 32D (smaller band, one cup up) or 36B (bigger band, one cup down).
For BIGGER and LARGER cups
The rule still applies, but best practice is to plug your measurements into the A Bra That Fits calculator and note the recommended UK size, then generate sister sizes using the rule above.
